How long do I have to get a B.C. driver's licence after moving?
ICBC gives new B.C. residents 90 days after moving to switch to a B.C. driver's licence.
How long do I have to register my car in B.C.?
New residents have 30 days after arriving in B.C. to register, license and insure their vehicle with ICBC. Commercial vehicles must comply immediately.
Does my Alberta vehicle need an inspection in B.C.?
Qualified private vehicles brought in from Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba are exempt from B.C.'s out-of-province inspection under the New West Partnership Trade Agreement, according to ICBC.
When does MSP start for new B.C. residents?
The wait period is the rest of the month you become a B.C. resident plus two more months. Each family member's wait is based on their own arrival date.
